Third Annual Cherokee County Career Expo
March 15, 2017 @ 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm
FreeWOODSTOCK, GA – More than three-quarters of Cherokee County residents leave their homes every morning to go to work in a different county when there are great opportunities right in their own back yards.
It’s time for Cherokee residents to #ForgetTheCommute and start new career opportunities closer to home.
To help those looking for a new career option or those graduating from high school or college seeking a new opportunity, the Cherokee Office of Economic Development (COED) and the Georgia Department of Labor are sponsoring the third annual Cherokee County Career Expo March 15, from 2-6 p.m.
“The Cherokee Career Expo will showcase our diverse group of impressive companies and their current job opportunities,” said COED President Misti Martin. “Since 78 percent of Cherokee’s residents commute to work out of the county every day, this is a perfect opportunity for those individuals to find employment closer to home and get hours back with home and family.”
Résumé assistance will be available beginning at 1 p.m. provided by Reinhardt University and Chattahoochee Technical College’s career services centers.
Employers including Chart Industries, Piolax Corporation, Northside Hospital-Cherokee, Universal Alloy Corporation, Pillow Perfect, Jaipur Living, Cherokee County, Belnick and many others will be represented at this year’s event at the Cherokee County Conference Center, 1130 Bluffs Parkway, Canton.
The companies are looking to fill positions from health care, engineering, project management, sales and customer service to technical and warehouse opportunities.
The Cherokee Office of Economic Development, through the Career Expos, has assisted over 1,300 individuals in their job-seeking endeavors.
Event attendees should dress for success and bring résumés.
